JIM's BEER-BUTTER GRILLED CHICKEN

Ingredients:
4 large chicken thigh/leg portions, cut half way through joints
1 can beer
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp real garlic powder
Several sprigs of fresh rosemary, stemmed and chopped (I use a lot)
1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

Warm beer in small pot over slow fire on stove, adding butter, soy, garlic, salt and rosemary. Stir briefly, then shut off fire.
Salt and pepper chicken to taste, then place on a BBQ grill at medium heat. Cover grill with vented top. After about five minutes, baste with beer-butter mixture and flip over. Baste more. Do this every five to ten minutes until done. It should take about 45 minutes, depending on the intensity of fire and size of chicken pieces.

Our first celebration of spring every year in the Lou!
